The Band of the 5th (BC) Field Regiment, Royal Canadian Artillery supports the Commander of 39 Canadian Brigade Group in accomplishing their goal of enhancing the Army's presence throughout the province of British Columbia. The band is a highly visible element that serves as a tangible link between the military and the public through its musical support of military, governmental, and civilian functions in Greater Victoria and on Vancouver Island. The Band of the 5th is highly flexible and can take many forms. These include large ensembles such as a concert band and marching band as well as smaller ensembles such as a 10-piece dinner band, or either a brass or woodwind quintet. It can offer musical support for military and public events, dances, public and school concerts, or fund-raising for registered Canadian non-profit organizations.
If you wish to have the band support your event, please complete a Request for Musical Support (printable file or fillable file) and submit it to either the address or fax number indicated therein or email the completed document to 5fieldband.ca@gmail.com. We ask for a lead time of five weeks in order to guarantee we are able to complete the required administration.
You will note that reference is made to DAOD 5037-1 Canadian Forces Band Engagements and B-GS-055-000/AG-001 Provision of Services. Should any clause therein restrict or impact upon the band's ability to provide the requested support, the requesting organization will be duly notified.
Please note that all requests are subject to both the exigencies of the service and the approval of the Commanding Officer, 5th(BC) Field Regiment, RCA.
